Abstract

The text presents and reviews international conferences held in honor of Metropolitan John D. Zizioulas, during his lifetime and following his passing. The many conferences in his honor and especially his theology, essays, books, translations of his work, etc. confirms the importance of Zizoulas' work that impacts the world of theology, philosophy, arts and science. Moreover, the on-going conferences demonstrates  that Zizioulas' theological vision is very much relevant and needed in modern approach to theology in both the East and the West. 

Author Biography

  • Vasilije Gavrilovic, Sts Mardarije and Sebastian Institute

    Vasilije (Basil) Gavrilovic holds a PhD from the Trinity College, University of Toronto, he also holds a MTS from the same institute, a ThM from the University of Athens, a BA in Theology from the University of Eastern Sarajevo. His research focuses on systematic theology and patristics. In addition to being an assistant to Bishop Maxim at the Western American Diocese, he also co-organizes the Sts Sebastian and Mardarije Institute. His upcoming manuscript on Gregory of Nyssa’s anthropology, is planned to be published this year, titled Dynamis and Participation: Theological Anthropology According to Gregory of Nyssa in De hominis opificio.
